This company was established by Artist/Architect Richard Goodwin to further facilitate his work as an artist affecting architecture and urban planning. The company is now responsible for a significant range of architectural works, public space and urban planning collaborations as well as site specific sculpture. The principal Richard Goodwin has a long track record as an exhibiting artist both here and overseas and has lectured at both Sydney University and the University of NSW. He has been a member of the NSW Advisory Committee for the Ministry of the Arts and the Academic Board of Sydney College of the Arts. He holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the University of NSW, where he is currently in the process of establishing a research centre into public space entitled "The Porosity Studio". This role is underpinned by a commitment to the debate surrounding public space leading to Keynote speeches at the following conferences:
"Junction '96", Lisbon Portugal, Architectural Biennale, Perth 1996, "Intersections", Adelaide 1996, "Flashpoint '99", Sydney Architectural Biennale 1999, "Public Art and Transport", Taipei, Taiwan, 2001.
Goodwin is contributing to an increasing number of overseas exhibitions including:
"Distance", Tokyo 1995, "Innenseite", satellite exhibition to Documenta ' 97, Kassel, Germany.
Richard Goodwin Pty Ltd is now at the forefront of the debate regarding the role of public art in redefining both art and architecture.
